The Jurong Christian Church Dialect Ministry members joined us, and presented Hokkien carols to the residents too.
Then the Boys led the residents in 2 simples games - passing the ball, and passing the strings with knots. While we played the games, the Dialect Ministry members sang songs in the background to cheer us on.
We brought some refreshments for the residents too, and talked with them while they ate.
When we ended the programme there, it started to rain really very heavily. We hung around, and when the rain stopped, we walked back to church.
During the debrief, the Boys shared their thoughts and seemed to have the idea that it is a terrible thing to do to leave our parents in old folks' homes. I shared with them that old folks homes were set up to help families who could not take care of their old folks, which is common in Singapore where husbands and wives both work. I emphasised that it is wrong if we abandon our parents in the old folks homes and do not take care of them or visit them.
Here are the pictures of the celebration at the Bo Tien Home, and pictures of the Boys making the hampers and practising the songs in church.
