But strangely, this is not the main reason why I blogged. We, the officers, were amazed at their dedication and determination throughout the games.
We were amazed to see some sec 2 Boys lead their floorball team. I never seen them so gangho, garang, and game-on before. It was infectious and others caught on. The overall commitment was a far cry from what we see at the inter-squad competitions.
During the soccer game, some Boys pressed on despite suffering minor injuries. It was team-before-self. It surely paid off, not just in the prizes and recognition, but in nurturing their own character and camaraderie.
When we came back to church, it was nice to see the Boys munching the prize (tibits), seating around to chit chat.
Easy to be all hugs and cheers when we win. The real test of true team spirit will be measured against the backdrop of adversity and failures. Will we stand the test then? While we await these greater challengers let us savor these precious moments and remember them when the tide turn against us. HURRAH 28th!
