Car Wash Project 19 July 2008

We had our Car Wash Project for BB Cares in church today. The original intention was to collect funds to bring the residents of Bo Tien Home to Sentosa next Saturday. However, BBHQ issued a circular a few days ago that all BB Cares projects for 2009 have been cancelled. The reason is to protect the BB Cares beneficiaries from H1N1 infection. We will instead use the funds collected to buy food and other items for the Bo Tien Home residents.

There were many cars in church today, and the Boys, primers and officers were kept busy throughout. MDM prepared sandwiches for our break. By God's provision, we collected $6 short of $700. Thank God too for the fine weather, the support from the church members, and everyone's enthusiasm. Clement Goh's mother and Tjun Tjeng's father brought their cars for us to wash too. A couple of outsiders who drove past the church also came in for a car wash.

Special thanks to church member Sai Kong who donated $200 to the project although he does not own car.
