Trial Hike

We had our Trial Hike around the Taman Jurong area yesterday. The initial plan was to go hiking in the morning, but it poured heavily at about 10am. In the end, we postponed our hike to after lunch.

The Adventure Stage 2 Boys covered 2 more lessons yesterday. They were divided into squads and were instructed to imagine that they were planning an outdoor camp for their squads.

The Boys explored these questions before presenting their answers to the rest of the class.
- "How would you choose a good spot for your Boys to pitch the tents?"
- "What instructions would you give your Boys to make the tents comfortable for sleeping?", and
- "How would you ensure the safety of your Boys?"

I would strongly suggest to the Adventure Stage 2 Boys that they use these questions to guide their revision for the theory test. I've got a strong feeling that they might see them again in the near future...

After lunch, the Boys were given some time to learn everything about a knot each. They then took turns to teach each other about their knots of expertise.

Finally, at 1:30pm, we set off from Jurong Christian Church for our trial hike. Some groups took only 45 minutes, while others too 90 minutes. We thank God for the fine weather and for protecting us throughout the walk.
