Orientation BBQ 2009

So far, 10 Boys from Shuqun Secondary have selected BB as their CCA. Our former Junior Boys Nicholas, who is in Jurong Secondary, has also decided to come back to join 28th Coy as his CCA.

We had our Orientation BBQ for this year. We also celebrated the January and February birthdays. For January, they are Ming Huan and Jeffrey (who was not around yesterday afternoon). For February, they are Mun Kwong, Tian Rui (new Sec 1 Boy), Yat Ming and Daniel.

Next, the Boys played some games, as a way to help the new Boys integrate with us. Here are the pictures of the games they played. The passing the message game at the start was outrageous. It was incredible how the message already got distorted by the 2nd or 3rd person in the line in some of the squads.

Then came the BBQ time. The officers started one fire, which went very well, and started cooking the chicken wings and heating up the otak. The heat was so good for this pit that it fanned into a small fire at times and burned the chicken wings. Then the squads started their own fires (which was a competition among them), and went on to cook the food. I left soon after for a wedding dinner, but heard that God held back the rain and let it pour only when we were finishing everything. It was a light rain until everyone reached church. God is good, all the time.

Then there was the usual chasing Elijah and Elisha around, because they refused to let me take pictures of them (they are our Chaplain Anthony's sons). But I still managed to. Guan Long showed up too, with his friend Joshua. I wonder why his close friends are all called Joshua. Amos came to join us too. He was our Best Boy in Shuqun Primary, and he is now in Commonwealth Secondary.
