Leadership Development Course Stage 1 and Senior NCO Course

We conducted the 2 courses as an overnight camp in church on 13-14 Dec 2008. The Sec 1 Boys attended the LDC1, while the rest attended the Senior NCO Course.

The LDC1 included topics such as Leadership, How to Lead, Upfront Speaking etc. The SNCO Course covered topics such as first aid and adventure. Then everybody participated in planning a mock recruitment to get each other to join their squads. The Boys, primers and officers voted for the most popular squad by awarding them points. Ephesians came out tops, followed by Corinthians, Philemon and Solomon.

Last night, we watched Coach Carter to emphasise what the Sec 1 Boys learnt - leadership is the ability to motivate people to work towards a common goal. See other post before this. There is a 20-minute feature that I wanted to show last night, showing interviews with the real Coach Carter and members of the Richmond High basketball team. It was too late by the time we finished the movie. We will probably watch the feature next Saturday.

Sergeant Clement, Sergeant Ricky, Corporal Stanley and Corporal Kok Yong received their Senior Proficiency Star Awards during the opening parade. They are on their way to getting their Founder's Awards. Jia you!
