Juniors Outing To Pasir Ris Park

First of all, it will be Children's Day on 1 Oct. Happy Children's Day to all our Junior Boys. They each received a set of 28th BB Coy stickers this morning - made in Taiwan, courtesy of small mdm when she went there for a holiday recently.

We gathered in Shuqun Primary School at 7.30 am. When I reached there, many of the Junior Boys were already there. We almost had equal number of officers/primers and Juniors Boys. Joshua, Jia Wei, captain, officer Wen Wei, Meng Huat were there too. Big Jonathan came too, and also Mun Kwong. Meng Soon came back from Tekong last night. He told me on msn last night that he should be coming, but when I messaged him this morning to ask him if he was coming, this was his reply - No sorry. Really too tired... And I thought his one week stay in Tekong was like going to a chalet. Mdm Shirley accompanied us too, even though she is in the midst of preparing for her daughter's wedding. Thank you, mdm.

The bus was late. It was supposed to come at 7.45 am, but it reached the school after 8 am. The air-conditioning in the bus was super cold.

When we reached Pasir Ris Park, Guan Long led us in a game that required no effort to plan. Treasure hunting for items that start with each letter of the alphabet, from A to Z. Some innovative ideas - X-box (which Guan Long did not accept), Queue, Naughty Shawn, Kai Quan etc etc. All the while, the Junior Boys were waiting to start cycling.

Finally, the time came. The group of Junior Boys who did not want or were not allowed to cycle were led to the playground by captain. I did not follow them, so did not take any of their pictures. I went instead to the bicycle shop to make sure things were ok. It took almost 30 minutes to get the bicycles - some seats were too high, some had brakes that did not work, and so on. Finally, it was all done, and the Junior Boys were raring to go. Take a look at our F1 racers.

After the cycling, the Junior Boys still had some time before we gathered for refreshments. Some of them took the time to visit the playground. They are still kids after all.

Refreshment time. The Junior Boys brought their own snacks and drinks, but MDM bought buns, cakes and Mamee snacks for them too.

After the refreshments, we did area cleaning. Finally, after the Vesper and dismissal,we boarded the bus, and returned to Shuqun Primary School. Captain, officer Wen Wei and some of primers dropped off halfway to go to Pulau Ubin to do a recce for the combained Seniors-Juniors outing in November. In the midst of all the excitement, we forgot to take a group photograph. Thank you, Guan Long!

Here are some pictures of our cute Junior Boys.

And finally, some miscellaneous pictures I took.

Oh yes, this one last picture. This Junior Boy - forgot his name - was so embarassed holding captain's hand as they walked back to the gathering point for refreshments.

Thank God for the fine weather this morning, and for keeping all of us safe throughout the outing.
